General Naturalization Provisions
The basic requirements for naturalization that every applicant
must meet, unless a member of a special class.
Green Card
An immigrant visa. Allows an alien to become a lawful permanent resident of the U.S. and to work legally, travel abroad and return, bring in a spouse and children and become eligible for citizenship. BCIS (a.k.a. INS) Alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-151 or Form I-551).
Green Card Lottery
The Diversity Immigrant Visa program is a United States congressionally mandated lottery program for receiving a Green Card. It is administered on an annual basis by the Department of State and conducted under the terms of Section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).
